What is your (i) understanding and (ii) opinion of this quote?

Use of the word "statistical" implies that life is a science and that one can determine their own best possible outcome. I contend that we are unable to conceive of all possible outcomes therefore I believe the quote to be false. To ascribe an unforseen outcome to "luck" betrays a belief that excludes the possible intervention of God. Even the Bible admits to the existence of "luck" when it says that chance and cirstance happen to people. Ecc. 9:11
