I personally would say to do Muay Thai, i believe that the training is more intense than kickboxing as i have done both, and found i got fitter quicker doing Muay Thai than doing kickboxing plus learning Muay Thai, its better for selfdefence, kickboxing about fancy high kicks and stuff as Muay thai just about being able to control every situation as if someone is close to you, you are able to use the clinch to throw knees or even elbows, but you will become alot fitter by doing muay thai.
