Why do we still have affirmative action?

race-based hiring IS racist. and that's not the worst part. the worst part is that medical schools have to let in minorities with VERY low numbers just to meet quotas. this is dangerous for the patients that they treat. plus, people see a minority doctor and wonder if they're actually qualified or just got in because of quotas. AA was necessary at one time, but not today. why can't we get over this?
